First stop, Malad Idaho

We left Boise at 4:30pm today and drove 300 miles to Malad. We thought this would be a good place to stop for the night as this is where my paternal grandparents grew up and there's also a nearby memorial at the site of my grandfathers home in Samaria.

We pulled in to the small motel (and I think it's the ONLY motel here) around 9:30 pm. I think there is only one other couple staying here tonight and whadya know.....they're related to me. His grandmother is Hannahbell Anderson, sister of my Great Grandfather David Hutton Anderson. I gave him my email address and he will be emailing me an old family picture. The kids & Rosie did great for our first day of driving. Tomorrow we'll do a short drive through Malad & Samaria then we'll be headed for Granby, CO. Tomorrow's drive will be our biggest day of driving, roughly 550 miles.
