Video!

This is exciting! Blogspot has just enabled video uploads so now you can see the Nudells in live action! Now, if I did it right there there should be a video below. I picked a video that I had already of the kids taking a bath just to test the feature out. I'll be taking many more! Now you can see them crying, eating, rolling over, babbling, etc! Just what you've always wanted ;-) As for other goings on.... Nick is still taking regular trips to Kalamazoo, Michigan and in the near future he'll begin regular trips to Cherry Hill, New Jersey for additional implants. We're still making decorative improvements to the house one wall, floor, room at a time. Nick and I are looking forward to a night out in Manhattan next Friday night. We're going to see a band called Blaqk Audio at the Manhattan Grand Ballroom in NYC. It will be such a novelty being out for the evening without the kids. It's funny the little things you take for granted before you become a parent. Stay tuned for more videos!

I have blogstipation

Well our visitor has come and gone and life is back to boring old us. Nothing like a visitor to make you get out and see the area. Tori had a good time and she said she really liked New Jersey.

Nick is recovering from a really bad poison ivy (or sumac?) rash. It is all over both arms and the lower part of his legs. It may have come from the yardwork and weeding he did in our backyard a few weeks ago but what's strange is that it would have taken 2 weeks to react. It started as a raised red itchy rash that turned into watery blisters. Grossed out yet? Just as he thought it was going away, he woke up with more all over. He finally went to the doctor and was given a few prescriptions. We also now have a professional to do the yardwork and yes, we warned him of the poison oak, ivy, or sumac we have.

Andrew is going through a very defiant stage. Yesterday I had put him in his room for a nap. What usually happens is that he'll play for 30 minutes or so then he'll end up climbing into his toddler bed when he gets tired. Well yesterday I went to check on him thinking I'd find him asleep but he had actually climbed into Lauren's crib and had disassembled her music mobile. He had also removed and emptied his dresser drawers and unplugged the baby monitor so I didn't hear any of this going on. Ay Carumba!

Lauren is just starting to sit unassisted and she is good for a few minutes before she'll tip over. I was playing some music and she started "dancing" by bobbing her head and wiggling her body. It was really cute. Still no sign of any teeth, hoping maybe this is the month.

I'm joining a local mom's club so that I can meet others and hopefully get out for some socializing & interesting outings with the kids.

NYC

Yesterday we spent the day in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Victoriah asked to see the Jehovah's Witness headquarters so we went for a 2 hour tour of the Watchtower building. If anything, it was a learning experience of the lives of Jehovah's Witnesses. I was expecting to regret having our car there but we found parking relatively easy. We ended up finding a spot on a quiet residential street with a terrific view of the Statue of Liberty and the Lower East Side neighborhood across the water. After the tour we drove into Manhattan and drove down 5th Avenue at Victoriah's request to see all the upscale shops, Tiffany & Co, Prada, etc. We saw the Rockefeller Center, Trump Tower, Grand Central, and the Empire State Building. We then parked the car in a parking garage and walked up and around Times Square (not quite the same in the middle of the day). We had street corner hot dogs for lunch then ducked into the Marriott for a while to get out of the heat and rest our feet. We all enjoyed watching the huge indoor column of glass elevators going up and down. There were lots of huge building sized banner ads for current Broadway shows and I can't wait to be able to see a show. We did everything Victoriah wanted to do in NYC except ride the subway. Oh well, next time perhaps. Andrew & Lauren were very patient in their stroller probably because there was a ton of visual stimulation and people watching to do! Today Nick took Victoriah to Six Flags Great Adventure about 45 minutes away. She was really excited because "Lil' Momma" will be singing in a concert there tonight. I have never even heard of Lil' Momma. I guess that's a sign of getting old.
